Price Survey of North Carolina Funeral Homes, 2019
The funeral home price survey is one of the most important documents that Funeral Consumers Alliance North Carolina (FCANC) provides as a public service to give consumers a general comparison of funeral prices.
An informed and knowledgeable funeral consumer is one who is less likely to get ripped off during a time when they are grieving and have other things on their mind.
FCANC conducts its price surveys every two years statewide with a goal to have them for all 100 counties. We are looking for volunteers in EVERY county to help us collect these General Price Lists (GPLs) from the funeral homes so we can compile all these and publish them here on our website. General Price Lists (GPLs) are not always found on funeral home websites and therefore must either be acquired by a phone call to request them, or
more than likely an in-person visit to obtain the lists.
Funeral businesses are required by the rules of the Federal Trade Commission to give prices over the phone and to give a printed copy of a GPL to anyone appearing in person and requesting information about funeral goods and services. Prices are “subject to change without
notice.”
Two regional FCA chapters in our state completed price surveys in their counties in 2019 (see below). Funeral Consumers Alliance of the Piedmont and FCA Coastal Carolina–now merged into one statewide chapter FCANC gathered the information in 2019 price surveys below. Click link to open these PDFs.
The price lists are in no way a guarantee that these are the prices you will be offered. They are only meant for comparison shopping purposes and are a good faith attempt to report the price information as accurately as possible.
